Carolyn Jones is a writer and journalist. She was born in Zimbabwe and now lives in the leafy town of Princeton, New Jersey. As a freelance reporter, she covers local climate and environment stories. Before moving east, she was a Texan for a while. She wrote about women’s reproductive rights, gun control, and other testy topics.
Carolyn has won several awards for her journalism. Most recently, she was honored with an Excellence in Local News Award from the Center for Cooperative Media for her reporting on how flooding affects historic properties in Princeton. She was also a recipient of a CivicStory Ecology-Civics Reporting Fellowship, which supports reporting on sustainability issues across New Jersey. Her work has appeared in TAPinto Princeton, Delaware Currents, The New Jersey Sustainability Reporting Hub, The Texas Observer, Al Jazeera America, and Le Chatelaine, among others. She once had the surreal experience of being interviewed about her work with Terry Gross on NPR’s Fresh Air.
When Carolyn’s not chasing local stories or trying & failing to Americanize her accent, she’s hoping to lure birds into her yard with native plants.
